General Intelligence: It includes both verbal and non-verbal reasoning topics such as similarities and differences, space visualization, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, etc.
  2. English Language: The English Language section covers topics such as comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, etc.
  3. Quantitative Aptitude: This section tests the candidates’ numerical abilities and problem-solving skills. It covers topics such as Number Systems, Simplification, Decimals & Fractions, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Work, Time & Distance, etc.
  4. General Awareness: It covers topics such as current affairs, history, culture, geography, economic scene, general policy, scientific research, etc.

Note that the level of difficulty of the questions asked in SSC CHSL is generally of 10+2 level. Therefore, candidates who have cleared their 10+2 examinations can appear for the exam.
